In a world where our supermarket shelves are crammed with canned foods and preserved goods, how can we know that what we are putting in our bodies is really good for us, even if it seems healthy? For example, canned fruits lose a lot of their nutritional properties and are sometimes placed in sugary syrups.

Superfoods are like regular foods, you are probably eating superfoods already that you don’t know about (or maybe you do, and just haven’t seen them as ‘superfoods’). But either way, you will find that many daily foods such as eggs to blueberries are superfoods. So what makes a superfood so super, you ask? Well, they have excellent properties, and come with amazing health benefits.

Implementing superfoods into your diet:

It should be relatively easy to start implementing the consumption of superfoods into your regular diet. If you have a routine that you usually stick to throughout the week, try changing some of the recipes to include superfoods, such as blueberries on top of your cereal or a poached egg on your slice of toast on a morning.

Salmon – Detox friendly, salmon is a gold mine for omega-3 to keep your heart running healthy and well!

Apples – Boasting natural anti-oxidants, that may even reduce your risk of lung cancer. You’ve heard, an apple a day keeps the doctor away!

Kale – A huge amount of vitamin K along with other vitamins, Kale is an excellent superfood. With cancer risk lowering properties for up to 5 different types of cancer and cholesterol lowering properties, Kale is a choice that you should be making 3-4 times per week.

Blueberries – Improves communication within brain cells protects brain from inflammation which helps the memory!
